The finals of the exciting three day sports fest Sportstakes came to an end on Thursday. St Joseph’s College (SJC) won the football tournament, St Joseph’s College of Commerce (SJCC) clinched the throwball tournament, and Kristu Jayanti College emerged victorious in the basketball tournament.
SJC defeated SJCC in the football finals. Babitar, III IES, scored the winning goal in the match.
Earlier in the day, SJC won against Amrita College of Engineering in the first semi-finals while SJCC defeated Christ University in the second semi-finals. Dr Fr Praveen Martis, Principal, SJC, who was present for the final game, personally wished all the players good luck and congratulated them for making it to the finals.
The two semi-final matches for the basketball tournament were played between SJC and Oxford College, and Kristu Jayanti and Christ Engineering College.
In a reversal of the football tournament, the finals of the throwball tournament was won by SJCC against SJC.
This year’s Sportstakes saw a good number of participating teams from various colleges across city. Sixteen teams registered for football, 12 for the basketball, and 10 teams for throwball.
