The new batch of National Cadet Corps (NCC) aspirants attended an orientation on Thursday, which was held to introduce them to the system and activities of the organisation.
Mark Thompson, Cadet Junior Under Officer, said, “Fifty-five students have already registered this year and many more are likely to apply over the coming week.”
“NCC’s aim is to train the young boys and girls to be a better citizens and future leaders. We provide a suitable environment to motivate the youth to take up a career in it,” said Jigisha Damini, Company Junior Under Officer while addressing the audience.
She also informed the students about the different activities conducted by the NCC such as rope climbing, visiting National Defense Academy, mountaineering and army assessment camp
The applicants will go through a number of selection processes including merits, interviews, group discussions and physical ability tests. The selected cadets will begin their training in the first week of July.
