Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagar Palike (BBMP), in an attempt to control the sudden surge of mosquitoes due to the onset of monsoon, has started fogging localities and other places frequented by people regularly. Fogging is a part of their Mosquito Eradication drive undertaken by BBMP.

Regular visits have been made to different parts of the city. Siddharth Srinivasan, II MA Economics, resident of Hebbal said that BBMP workers had visited his apartment last week and sprayed gases to kill mosquitoes. While another Economics student, Philasano Julie, resident of Shantinagar said that she had never seen any BBMP worker go for fogging.

When asked for comments, BBMP officials said that they had noted people’s complaints and said their drive had started recently so they would act on it as soon as possible.

Fogging is a cloud of vaporised liquid, especially a chemical spray used in killing mosquitoes.
