CAMPUS: The basketball tryout session for the new academic year was conducted by the Department of Physical Education at St Joseph’s College on Tuesday. Twelve boys and 12 girls were selected to represent the College at intercollegiate tournaments.
During the selection the Department tested skills like dribbling, passing, shooting and the players’ control over the ball.
Newton K, Sports Director said, “I’m very particular about fitness and flexibility as it helps the teachers train the students. This year many talented players came for the selections. However, during these tryouts there were fewer girls compared to the last year. The girls’ team has performed well in the past and I would encourage them to participate more.”
The inter-college basketball tournaments this year will start from August.
