As part of the Ignatian Week, All India Catholic University Federation (AICUF) conducted competitions for students and teachers here on Wednesday. Students competed in Collage, flower arrangement and face painting.
The competitions are based on the life and vision of St Ignatius of Loyola, founder of the Jesuits. While the theme for collage making was God in all things, while Faith and Justice and Creativity and Nature were the themes for face painting and flower arrangement respectively.
This year the competitions were open for teachers as well as students. Ms Maria and Dr Berin Lukas of Sociology took part in the competitions.
Speaking to The Beacon Dr Berin Lukas said, “It’s a really good experience taking part of this competition along with the students. We are happy that the AICUF members gave a chance for the teachers to take part as well.”
Speaking to The Beacon, Jenof, Programme Coordinator of Ignatian Week said, “By conducting this competitions as a part of Ignatian Week, we are giving the students a glimpse to the life and spiritual ideology of St Ignatius of Loyola. The themes we used for today’s competitions were St Ignatius’s visions.”
