Social Work Department conducts music competition

Social Work Student Association (SWSA) held a western acoustic music competition at Xavier Hall on Tuesday.

Madhumita R, II MSW, Cultural Secretary, SWSA, said, “This cultural festival is exclusively meant for Social Work Department students. It helps our entire department to develop close ties with each other. Everyone in the department takes part in almost all the events.”

Mr Arunodhayan Sam Solomon, Department of Computer Science, was the judge for the music competition. Sohn Saldanha, III BSW, said, “I have been taking part in SWSA for the last three years now. SWSA is that time of the year when we get to interact with our seniors personally.”

This association conducts a two-week event including various programmes like interactive sessions, guest lectures, dance and music competitions every year. The first week of SWSA comprised of literature related events. Programmes like folk music, theme and folk dance, games, and the prize distribution ceremony are scheduled to be held at Xavier Hall on Wednesday.
