CAMPUS: Summer is sliding away but Sunday Wear has kept summers’ space safe. Xavier’s Hall at St Joseph’s College on Saturday saw vibrant colours as Under Graduate students flaunted their attires on ‘Sunday Wear’ in auditions for the College Fashion Team.
The auditions organised by the Students Council saw the participation of over 35 men and women of the College show their zeal and carry their confidence as they walked the ramp in their skater dresses, floral gowns, lan pants, jump suits, 3/4th pants, tees, semi casual shirts, low waist jeans, hats, and head phones.
“The concept was to test how casual summer wear can still retain the chic look,” said Nikita, member of Student Council. Priyanka, a participant from Humanities, said that the first thing to strike her upon knowing the theme of the show was that the attire had to be really comfortable, and the rest would follow in the attitude.
The hall cheered for the participants with applauds and enjoyed the theme. “It was bright, fun, and colourful to watch the ramp walk,” said Dan, I M.A. Literature. Sopem, I MSW, got the loudest claps from the audience. She said that “It was a very well conceptualized theme as it allowed me to show my Christian religion beautifully in a very casual and fashionable form.”
The audition was judged by faculty of the College, Lt. Akshay Mandlik, Department of Social Work, and Manisha, Department of Chemistry, who demonstrated a quick walk.
