BENGALURU : The Bhovi Jananga Okkuta (state committee) will be holding a protest on February 2, 2017 at Town Hall demanding the removal of Advocate general and the concerned Government Lawyer with the suspicion of being involved with the accused.
The four people who were accused regarding bonded labour in Hangarahalli and Srirangapatna, have been given clean chit by the High Court. The Bhovi Jananga Okkuta claims that advocate general and government lawyer have failed to give the details and submit proofs against these people and suspects them to be involved with the accused.
“Earlier there was a case where the owner of Chamundeshwari stone crushing industries Puttaswami Gowda and his son Arun Gowda had locked Venkatesh, Nagaraju and other six people and had also threatened to kill them if they informed the police. When they were produced in the court, they were also forced to tell that chains were tied to our legs for the purpose of shooting for a movie,” as stated in the press release.
The committee then held a rally which led to the reinvestigation of the case. S.M Krishna, former Chief Minister and Sonia Gandhi, National Congress President arrived to the office to solve the issue. Puttaswami Gowda and Arun Gowda were later arrested.
The committee wants the government to file an affidavit to Supreme Court and ask them to handover the case to CBI. The committee will hold a protest if the government doesn’t agree to do so.
“We demand for a CBI investigation and the removal of Advocate general and the government lawyer,”said Nanjappa Bhovi, State President of the committee.
