BENGALURU: Transport system in the city got affected due to the strike that app based transport services went on a strike on February15, 2017 at Shanti Nagar bus stand. The strike took place due to issues of income.
Federation of Karnataka autorickshaw and taxi drivers union backed by Centre of Indian Trade Unions and All India Trade Union Congress staged a protest in front of the transport commissioner’s office at Shanti Nagar against various issues like income, city permit etc.“The cab operators and the government has been ignoring different problems like ride share services. They have given several petitions regarding it, but no step has been taken.
The centre has not responded or addressed these disputes. That’s the reason they had to call for a strike,” said B.V Raghavendra, General Secretary, Federation of Karnataka autorickshaw and taxi drivers union.
Tanveer Pasha, President of Uber, Ola, TaxiForSure Drivers Association said that the protest will be joined by maximum cab and auto drivers.
