BENGALURU: As a show of unity and to raise awareness about the challenges of rare disease in our country, a non-profit organisation, The Organisation for Rare Disease (ORDI) is hosting a 7000 meter run/walk.

‘The Race for 7’ intends to target 7000 participants and each participant would represent one of the seven thousand rare diseases. “It is estimated that there are 70 million rare disease patients in India and one out of every twenty are diagnosed from a rare disease,” said Prasanna Shirol, Founder member, ORDI.

The ORDI hopes that the patients get the benefit of timely diagnosis and medical procedure. ‘The Race for 7’ will be flagged off at St Joseph’s Indian High School on February 26 at 7:00 a.m.
