Bengaluru: With the recent record of 73 farmer suicides in one month, the Aam Aadmi Party(AAP) has urged the government to take up steps to help them.
Karnataka has been witnessing drought since the past 6 years, which has made life difficult for the farmers. But the government hasn’t taken up any steps; also the government has plans to hike up the electricity tariff.
Shivakumar Chengalaraya, State Coordinator, AAP suggested that the government should schedule timely power supply for these farmers and order the banks to give farmers loan at a low-interest rate or zero interest rate.
