Amnesty Club organizes Film Festival

CAMPUS: The Amnesty Club in collaboration with Amnesty International, Bangalore is organizing a film festival from 2 to 4 of March 2017 at St Joseph College, Bangalore. The theme for this film festival is ‘celebrating gender diversity- only true way to equality’.

There will be one film screening each day at 3 PM followed by the panel discussion consisting of students, professors and members from the Amnesty University. The film ‘all about my mother’ will be screened on the first day with Speakers Dr. Cheryan alexander, Professor, department of English and Rahul Prasad, student of SJC followed by ‘Dayerah’ (the circle) on March 3 with speaker Dr Mary P.Lavanya, department of Social work and the film ‘offside’ with the speaker Lata Paul, department of social work and Mayukh sen, student of SJC on the last day.

“With the theme ‘gender diversity’ this film festival attempts to portray the gender discrimination around the world to the youth and how women are pressurized with being stereotyped in the society.” said Mayuk Sen, organizer, BSC student, SJC.
