The BMTC carried out their trial runs on their employees and expects to roll out these smart cards in months to come. The issuing of the smartcards shall be done at Kempegowda and Shivajinagar bus stop. It will be the country’s first try at smartcards for bus. Axis bank has associated with BMTC for the project, which aims at hassle free and effective travelling methods.

However, it was found that the smartcard would be made available or bought at Rs 10, to which Priyanka A, System Manager at BMTC said, “We are not sure of this news about the smartcards at Rs 10 but we have not yet decided on that.” The must awaited scheme by BMTC will be a reality in just a few weeks.
