BENGALURU: The Karnataka Police are looking to spread further awareness about Suraksha — its women’s safety app — through a presentation on how to use it.
The one-hour presentation is slated to take place from 4 pm on Sunday, January 26 — Republic Day — at Lake Avenue in Orion Mall in the city.
The Suraksha app — already advertised by the cops on several platforms — immediately notifies the police of the location at the click of a button which the women may use when they sense danger. More details about its functioning will be displayed and explained during the presentation.
The awareness programme — supported by Brigade Gateway — is expected to witness the presence of 300 policemen and prominent personalities from the Kannada film industry.
The event will conclude a day-long Republic Day parade at the Brigade Group’s flagship Orion Mall.
The parade is expected to showcase hoisting of the Indian flag, a march-past by more than 100 security personnel and cultural programmes by students and residents of the area.
